Hosting and browser-side tools
GaryCity.com is a public static website hosted on an owner-managed Hetzner server. Ordinary page and asset requests pass through the server’s HTTPS proxy. The host receives connection information such as the IP address, request time, requested path and browser request headers to deliver the website and maintain transport security.
GaryCity does not add analytics, advertising tags, tracking pixels, cookies, account login, geolocation requests or a remote database. The GaryCity web server has access logging disabled. Operational errors and container diagnostics may still be recorded by the hosting stack; they are used for availability, security and troubleshooting. GaryCity container diagnostics rotate at 10 MB per file with up to three files. This size limit is not a guaranteed retention period for the hosting provider’s own records.
Search matches the included guide index in your browser. Its query and city filter appear in the page URL so a result can be shared or revisited. The website host receives that URL on a page request, even though no external search provider processes the query. Browser history may retain it. Do not enter private information into search.
A separate optional portable review document embeds its pages and keeps its internal route and search state in URL fragments. Those fragments are not sent to a server. A local preview server can log its own ordinary requests to process output.
Correction-note downloads stay under your control.
Preparing a correction displays its text on the page. Select note text lets you select and copy it using your device’s normal controls. Download text file creates a file only when you choose that separate link. It does not send email, submit to a backend or save your note in browser storage. You choose whether to keep, edit, share or delete the downloaded file. With JavaScript unavailable, its fields stay disabled rather than falling back to a server submission.
Email is a separate correspondence channel.
A link to info@garycity.com opens your email application. If you send a message, its contents, sender address and normal email metadata pass through your email provider and the publisher’s email delivery services. They are not confined to the local note download.
Forwarding to the publisher’s correspondence mailbox is configured. Incoming delivery has not yet been tested or verified. The private forwarding destination is not a public contact address.
Publisher correspondence is used to consider the enquiry, reply where appropriate and maintain the relevant correspondence record. Do not send payment details, passwords, identity documents or other unnecessary sensitive information. Ask about your correspondence using the published email address.
External links leave GaryCity.
Official sources, postal lookups and map searches open other websites with their own privacy practices. Those sites receive ordinary browser request information when visited. No third-party map, analytics script or remotely hosted font is embedded in this edition.
Updates and privacy enquiries
Tracking, accounts, hosted form submissions and advertising are not enabled. Before adding a service that changes data handling, its actual data flows, provider, retention and required choices must be reviewed and this notice updated.
